spielen die Alten am Sternenhimmel Schach
Ihre letzten Züge sind mal hell, mal dunkel
Ein Vogel springt aus dem Uhrengehäuse
und kündet die Stunde 

In Ramallah
steigt die Sonne den Alten gleich über die Mauern
Sie durchstreift die Flohmärkte
und erhellt sich selbst
auf rostigen Kupfertellern 

In Ramallah
trinken die Götter Wasser aus Tonkrügen
Bögen befragen einzelne Saiten nach dem Weg
Ein Knabe geht zum Horizont
das Meer zu beerben 

In Ramallah
sät mittags der Tod
Vor meinem Fenster beginnt es zu blühen
Die Bäume trotzen dem Wirbelsturm
